| 1. |
Our rates include unlimited mileage, a choice between standard or reduced
excess theft/collision waivers, airport surcharges, tourism levy, PAI (personal
accident insurance) and VAT.
|
| 2. |
Rates and conditions are subject to change without prior notice and all
vehicles are rented subject to the detailed terms and conditions in the Rental
Agreement.
|
| 3. |
Rates are not commissionable.
|
| 4. |
Due to the discounted nature of these rates, redemption of voyager miles is not
applicable.
|
| 5. |
All rates include maintenance and oil but not fuel. |
| Payment |
| 1. |
Payment is by credit card only; we accept all major credit cards but
regrettably we cannot accept debit cards.
|
| 2. |
The card holder must be the renter and the credit card is not
transferable. |
| 3. |
An authorisation amount is held on the Renter’s card – this amount may differ
according to vehicle group hired and duration of rental – as a minimum a R2000
hold should be allowed for.
|
|
| Rentals |
| 1. |
There can be no extension of rentals without prior authorisation from
Tempest/Sixt Car Hire. An unauthorised extension negates collision and theft
cover.
|
| 2. |
Rentals are charged per 24 hours. Late return of vehicles will result in being
charged for a further day.
|
| 3. |
Rentals will be charged until such time as the vehicle keys are
returned. |
|
| Drivers |
| 1. |
A valid, unendorsed licence must be produced by the hirer or
authorised driver. |
| 2. |
Minimum age for hirers or authorised drivers is 23 years of age and the drivers
licence must have been valid for a minimum of two years.
|
| 3. |
All fines and penalties incurred in the duration of the hire are borne strictly
for the liability of the driver. This includes valets for cars that are
returned in conditions not accepted as normal.
|
| 4. |
In the event of a break-down or accident, the hirer will be responsible for all
resultant costs; including towing.
|
| 5. |
On termination of the rental, vehicle keys must be returned to an authorised
personnel member of Tempest Car Hire. Failure to do so will result in the hirer
being fully liable for the value of loss or damage.
|
| 6. |
In the event of loss of keys, the hirer will be responsible for
all resultant costs. |
| 7. |
A surcharge of R50 per driver per day is payable for drivers
below the age of 23 years of age. |
|
| Vehicles |
| 1. |
No vehicles may cross any RSA or Namibian border without prior consent from
Tempest Car Hire.
|
| 2. |
All speedometers are sealed and any forced interference with the speedometers
will result in the rate immediately reverting to daily rates and 500 kms per
day will be charged.
|
| 3. |
All accidents and vehicle thefts are subject to a R300/N$300
administration charge. |
| 4. |
Personal belongings stolen from vehicles are not covered. |
